For over 9 years, we’ve worked to bring real food back into the hands of real people. We started with seeds, soil, and a vision. Today, that vision has evolved into a call to action.

Our Journey: From Seeds to Systems 🌱

2015 – 2017: The Foundation Years

Established the first 0.85-acre homestead at 1327 Etain, developing key agricultural skills.
Experimented with livestock, beekeeping, and aquaponics, while planting extensive fruit trees and flowers.
Balanced farm expansion with a tech career at Microsoft, laying the groundwork for integrating automation into farming.

2017 – 2018: Transition to Market-Focused Agriculture

Shifted from livestock to seasonal produce, expanding market garden plots.
Started selling at Dallas Farmers Market and explored secondary and tertiary market locations.
Purchased 1333 Etain, adding indoor growing capabilities, a deep well, and mature pecan trees.
Launched the Provision Collection (pestos, ferments, chips), integrating value-added products.
Built a digital presence, leveraging social media, Google My Business, and volunteer networks.

2019 – 2020: Centralization and Infrastructure Expansion

Focused operations at 1333 Etain, developing multiple 50’x50’ plots and a walk-in cooler for greens processing.
Developed The Garden Party app (v3) to optimize farm management and sales.
Began early-stage automation and robotics projects for labor efficiency and farm security.

2021 – 2023: Scaling and Systematization

Expanded Braga Farms DFW to a recognized model for urban and community farming.
Integrated QR code cashless checkout and refined e-commerce operations.
Strengthened local partnerships with businesses, schools, and urban sustainability programs.
Invested in sustainable packaging and regenerative agricultural practices.
Developed advanced automation tools, enhancing farm logistics and produce tracking.
Developed our first international gardens in Morocco. Hassanat Gardens. Opportunity to visit and write in the King's Palace & Gardens in Rabat.

2024 – Present: The Blueprint for Future Urban Farming

Scaling towards the 300-acre homestead initiative while refining Braga Farms as a DFW-wide network of sustainable neighborhood farms.
Advancing hydroponic, permaculture, and AI-assisted farm management tools.
Establishing Braga Farms DFW as a go-to in education, farm-tech innovation, and resilient food systems.

Impact: What We’ve Accomplished

✔️ 10,000+ lbs of food grown and shared with local families, churches, and community groups
✔️ Tens of thousands of seed packs and cuttings distributed to urban growers
✔️ Hundreds of workshops and planting sessions with volunteers, schools, faith groups, and neighborhoods

✔️ A blueprint for local food sovereignty—ready to be replicated city by city. i.e. the Food Forest Flywheel and their Leafcycles

Combining the best of agriculture and technology, is what makes all this possible. Therefore we're always pushing at the limits of quality and innovation when it comes to market gardens and urban homesteading.

We constantly ask ourselves, is there something we can improve. . .and 9 times out of 10 the answer is yes!

Jefferson is passionate about using his tech/program management background to make life on the farm easier, more fun, and more sustainable for others who wish to live a similar lifestyle. Every season brings new challenges and in order to keep up and grow more it requires that we keep pushing our limits.

Bio-Plastics - Through World Centric and other green vendors, most of our products are free of petro-plastics; either contained in reusable glass jars or bio-degradable/corn based plastics that quickly decompose in landfills.

Cryptocurrency - The ledger technology that is blockchain is something we've believed in since 2010. While we stepped away for many years and missed the last couple year's hype, we're now advancing our options and accepting all cryptos.
