2025 - The Year of 1 Million

Braga Farms' Goals for 2025: The Year of 1 Million

As Braga Farms continues to lead the charge in sustainable urban agriculture, we have set ambitious goals for 2025 that will transform the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex and inspire communities worldwide. Dubbed "The Year of 1 Million," this initiative outlines specific milestones that embody our commitment to creating a greener, healthier, and more self-sufficient future. Here’s what we plan to achieve:

1 Million Figs Harvested and Distributed Across DFW

2025 will see the harvest and distribution of 1 million figs throughout the DFW area, marking a significant milestone in urban fruit production. Secondary goals include substantial harvests of pecans, jujube, peaches, and blackberries. These fruits are not only nutrient-rich but are also well-suited to the North Texas climate, making them perfect for sustainable cultivation.

Why Figs? Figs thrive in Texas due to their resilience to high temperatures and minimal water needs. By planting and nurturing fig trees across the region, we aim to boost local food security, reduce the carbon footprint of imported fruits, and provide nutritious produce to our communities.

1 Million Homes with Full Fruit Tree Packs

Our aggressive target for 2025 is to see 1 million homes across the DFW metroplex equipped with fruit tree packs. Each pack includes a curated selection of trees such as fig, peach, pecan, jujube, and mulberry. These fruit trees will transform urban and suburban neighborhoods into micro-orchards, contributing to increased green spaces, cleaner air, and a stronger sense of community.

Impact and ROI Investing in these tree packs offers an impressive return on investment (ROI) for residents. A mature fig or peach tree can yield 50-100 pounds of fruit annually, translating into significant savings on grocery bills. Additionally, the aesthetic and environmental benefits increase property value and foster neighborhood camaraderie.

1 Million Seed Packs Sold

To encourage home gardening and community agriculture, we aim to sell 1 million seed packs through direct channels, retail partnerships, and digital platforms. These seed packs will include a variety of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds optimized for North Texas gardens.

Why Seed Packs? Distributing seed packs promotes self-sufficiency and empowers residents to start or expand their gardens. This goal is not just about selling seeds but about fostering a culture of growth, education, and sustainability. Each seed pack represents a step towards reconnecting with nature and understanding the origins of our food.

1 Million New Gardeners for Spring 2025

We envision 1 million new gardeners joining the movement by Spring 2025. This influx of gardeners will strengthen local food networks and help cultivate a resilient, eco-conscious community.

Supporting New Gardeners Braga Farms will host educational workshops, both online and in-person, to teach fundamental gardening skills. From seed starting to composting and seasonal planting, these sessions will provide invaluable knowledge and foster a shared passion for gardening.

1 Million eBooks Promoting Sustainable Agriculture

Digital education is a cornerstone of our mission. By 2025, we aim to distribute 1 million eBooks focused on sustainable agriculture, gardening best practices, and eco-friendly living. These eBooks will be available through our website, Amazon, and partnerships with educational institutions.

Empowering Through Knowledge Our eBooks will serve as a resource for both novice and experienced gardeners, offering tips on everything from permaculture principles to pest management and organic growing techniques. By making these resources widely available, we hope to inspire a new generation of green advocates.

1 Million Sales to Braga Friends

Building partnerships is key to expanding our impact. We aim for 1 million sales to Braga Friends—a network of local and international group of growers, including community gardens, small businesses, and NGOs. This network is committed to each others products and love to help growers succeed.

Partnering for Success By partnering with organizations committed to sustainability, we can reach more people and create lasting change. Our Braga Friends will be essential in scaling our efforts, leveraging local and international expertise to push urban agriculture forward.

1 Million Grants Expansion

Public funding plays a crucial role in supporting urban agriculture. Our goal is to secure 1 million in grants for projects that promote food security, community gardens, and green initiatives.

Leveraging Public Funding Grant funding will enable Braga Farms to expand educational programs, support underserved areas with free gardening resources, and create more green spaces throughout DFW. With these grants, we can tackle food deserts, promote sustainable living, and foster a sense of unity across communities.
