2022 Projects and Operational Upgrades

2022 Spring

First Sunday of April 12:00PM

A homestead should always have an area or two for debris and piling up a mess of trees, brush, and weeds. Where through the years a Hugelkutur may form. This Sunday, we're going to make the biggest one in DFW and plant mellons, ginger and some other goodies into it.

Hügelkultur (German pronunciation: [ˈhyːɡl̩kʊlˌtuːɐ̯]) is a horticultural technique where a mound constructed from decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass plant materials is later (or immediately) planted as a raised bed. Adopted by permaculture advocates, it is suggested the technique helps to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming, thus benefiting plants grown on or near such mounds.[1][2] -www.wikipedia.com
