I, the undersigned, hereby acknowledge that:

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with participating in activities at Braga Farms, its affiliated Friends & Associates’ Lands, and any other designated properties where farm-related learning, training, and volunteer work may take place. These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Working with and around livestock (including goats, cows, chickens, dogs, and other animals).
• Handling farming tools, equipment, and materials.
• Exposure to outdoor elements, unpredictable weather, and environmental hazards.
• Engaging in physically demanding tasks such as planting, harvesting, pruning, composting, and soil work.

I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks, including injury, disability, illness, or death, that may arise from my participation at Braga Farms, any affiliated partner farms, community projects, or educational workshops hosted on Friends & Associates’ Lands.

2. Personal Responsibility

I acknowledge that:

• Braga Farms and its associated Friends & Partner Lands are not responsible for personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged during my time on their properties.
• I am responsible for following all safety guidelines and farm protocols provided by each respective property host.

3. Release & Waiver of Liability

I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Braga Farms (Jefferson Braga), its affiliates, partner farms, Friends & Associates’ Lands, their owners, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, or costs that may arise in connection with my participation in activities on any designated farm or learning site.

4. Guest Responsibility & Indemnification

I understand that if I bring any guests to Braga Farms or any affiliated Friends & Associates’ Lands, I assume full responsibility for their safety and behavior. I agree to indemnify and defend Braga Farms, its partners, and Friends’ Lands from any claims brought by such guests.

I have read this waiver and release in its entirety, understand its contents, and voluntarily agree to its terms.

Photo, Audio & Visual Release Form

I, the undersigned, grant Braga Farms & Affiliated Partners full rights and permission to copyright, use, publish, republish, copy, exhibit, or distribute photographs and/or video footage of myself for use in promotional, educational, training, and marketing materials. This includes, but is not limited to, Braga Farms’ website, social media, digital and printed materials, and any other form of public communication.

I acknowledge that I will not receive compensation for the use of my image, video, or audio recordings.

Volunteer Code of Conduct Agreement

Braga Farms and its affiliated Friends & Associates’ Lands are family-friendly, community-focused spaces dedicated to sustainable agriculture and education. As a volunteer, I acknowledge and agree to abide by the following standards of conduct:

1. Respect & Professionalism: I will treat all individuals—farm staff, fellow volunteers, visitors, and community members—with kindness, respect, and professionalism.
2. Appropriate Behavior: I understand that inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to profanity, lewd or sexual conduct, aggressive language, or disruptive actions, is strictly prohibited on any farm or associated property.
3. Dress Code: I will dress modestly and appropriately for farm work, ensuring my clothing is suitable for outdoor physical activities. I acknowledge that provocative, revealing, or inappropriate attire is not permitted.
4. Farm Safety & Compliance: I agree to follow all farm rules, safety guidelines, and instructions provided by Braga Farms staff and the hosts of Friends & Associates’ Lands to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.
5. Commitment to Sustainability & Community: I recognize Braga Farms’ mission to promote sustainable agriculture, food security, and community-driven growing initiatives. I will actively contribute to this mission by being an engaged and responsible volunteer.
6. Respect for Partner & Associate Properties: I acknowledge that some volunteering, training, and learning experiences may take place on Braga Farms Friends & Associates’ Lands, and I agree to respect their land, policies, and instructions as I would at Braga Farms itself.
7. Guest & Community Engagement: As a volunteer, I understand that I am representing Braga Farms and its mission. If I engage in educational or outreach opportunities, I will do so with integrity, knowledge, and respect for the community.

Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in dismissal from volunteer activities at Braga Farms and its partner locations.
