Volunteer with Braga Farms 🌱

Are you ready to get your hands dirty, learn new skills, and help grow a thriving urban farm? Whether you're interested in gardening, farming, building, or just supporting a sustainable community, we’d love to have you join us!


Volunteer Hours

Our primary volunteer windows are designed to work with the rhythms of the farm and the Texas weather:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
    • Morning: Sunrise to Noon
    • Evening: Dusk minus ~2 hours (varies seasonally)

What You’ll Be Doing

As a volunteer at Braga Farms, you’ll engage in various activities based on the season and our current projects:

  • Gardening: Planting, weeding, watering, and tending to crops.
  • Propagation: Preparing cuttings, starting seeds, and organizing trees for distribution.
  • Farm Maintenance: Building raised beds, repairing structures, and general upkeep.
  • Harvesting and Post-Harvest: Picking produce, sorting, and packaging for markets.
  • Special Projects: Assisting with community events, Grow Wagon preparations, and workshops.

What to Bring

To make the most of your volunteer experience, please bring:

  • Clothing: Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Footwear: Closed-toe shoes (boots or sturdy sneakers recommended).
  • Essentials: Hat, gloves, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
  • Optional: Gardening tools (if you have favorites) and a notebook for learning tips.

Requirements

  • Age: Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Waiver: Please review and sign the Braga Farms LLC Farm Liability Waiver before your first day.
    • You may message us directly to receive a copy of the waiver and confirm your plans to volunteer.

  2. Waiver: Complete and return the liability waiver provided.
